Ultra-Origin

knowing what-where-how-and when the products we consume is a responsibility the user has to acknowledge, we cant continue with our consumption being based in ignorance.

the pattern-making process is based in A4 paper, the common used sized paper… finding irony in the material, which claims to be an eco-conscious material that is free of any harming chemical… with the wooden print. This all together stands for reminding ourselves that in order for us to use paper, several processes happen, including the deforestation of our landscape.

the label, is not just a label… its a standar pocket that allows the storage of ID’s, credit cards, money…

the trend forecasting for this fw11 season was clasified in 2:

natural: taking elements from nature in order to create a new aesthetic…

scientific: through a well thought creative process, with an interdisciplinary method, new possibilities will emmerge…

color scheming taking inspiration from tangible mother earth products + a careful color drop process to mimic nature = nail polish

WHITE LIES is a band that caught my attention through their covers at first… that was why i bought their CD’s… strong yet simple aesthetics that i knew and understood that beneath the surface there was a strong message.

For this project i took what i believed was the essence of their band·name: a [little] white lie…

Beyond aesthetic purposes, i searched for an interaction with the audience, playing with their perception and feelings… among with tricky song tittles, which represent the number of dots in writing form.

this is the identity concept for brand

Anahata: its the center chakra… the union between your animal chakras and divine chakras… two sounds that are together without making noise independence-dependence… opposites… ceramic: comes from the earth and returns to it without hurting its creator… leather: if the animal has died… isn’t it better to use it, with a earth-friendly process so that we can venerate life… those are the things that inspired this project… considering woman struggles when attaching the jewelry´s brooch, finding new possibilities became a priority…

While in NY, i bought this book at the PHAIDON store in soho…

this is the first thing u see once u open it… this is where i got hooked…

along with a very interesting introduction to the curriculums of the people involved in the making of this book, that honestly got me confused and amused… this book shows how we’ve destroyed our environment with the most ‘simple’ stuff we do…

like ditching our stuff away…

or over packing our life’s with useless stuff…

i was completely in blank for a ceramic’s project… final project… so i was at my calculus class when i started doodling on the right corner of my notebook… it all started with this 3 words… that were what could describe this book… well not the book but the overal description of human behavior… then unconsciously thought of 3 objects that could describe the words… and realized that eating utensils fitted… then i got spooked out because it was like all matching in my head and in my paper… BECAUSE… when we eat, no matter what we eat- even if its a super healthy diet(u might be missing some nutrients, or u are so focused on the diet that u destroy your self..), or u just dont give a shit of what u eat that end up screwing your self up…  and its the same with the daily activities, or u destroy your self directly or indirectly, consciously or unconsciously…

so i came up with these… simple art-object pieces… clean in shape and materials… but filled with substance…

fork: agressive…

spoon: whole…

knife: danger…

This pieces are made of recycled porcelain, their essence relies in honesty, purity and coherence… in order to communicate that visually there was necessary to complement them with products that shared that same essence. Therefore, food in its most honest way is when raw… dusty flour, butter, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt… simplicity at its best Ü

given the porcelain pieces are filled with color, and clean shape; there was no better way as to complement them with food that would not compete, therefore the artisanal bread loaf along with luxious figs, blueberries and organic milk were the best choice due to the fact that luxury is overrated.
